Forest Fun Days
From the Ashes
I know Kate personally and both my children enjoy her holiday sessions. They cook food on the fire which is included in the day fee. They always have a very high staff ratio and a perfect mix of adult initiated crafts with lots of wonderful free play in the woods.
Forest Fun Days
Bluebell Bushcraft is run by Matt Harder, based in the picturesque South Downs of Sussex. A qualified teacher and Forest School leader with over 10 years experience teaching survival and Bushcraft skills.
Matt runs Forest Days near Ashington. My children have always found these to be varied and interesting. Matt has incredible cookery skills and his brownies are legendary in our house. Matt and his team build on children's interests and have great staff ratios allowing children to be really noticed and cared for.
Set in 14 acres of unrivalled South Down’s National Park countryside, Slindon College Holiday Club is a well run and professional holiday club run during selected weeks over the summer.
My children have always enjoyed their days at Slindon. The staff have always been welcoming and qualified and I had confidence that they would be well cared for.
"Available to boys and girls aged 8-12, Slindon College Holiday Club is guaranteed to be full of fun, sporting and creative activities that include swimming, team games, assault course, archery, pool, golf, basketball, boxing, art, drama and Forest School. "
Woodland Wonders forest school provide forest school programmes for schools and communities, holiday activities, birthday parties and parent and child groups in the Chichester, West Sussex area.
I know Jen personally and she has always delivered varied and fun forest School sessions to both my children. My youngest has attended the Forest School sessions at Aldingbourne and thoroughly enjoyed them.
Outdoor Activity Days
Lodge Hill is an inclusive outdoor activity centre with residential facilities situated within 32 acres of stunning woodland in the midst of the South Downs National Park, overlooking the Arun Valley.
Both my children have enjoyed their days at Lodge Hill and being just a short walk from our home is our number one choice for budget friendly holiday fun.
They offer a mix of outdoor adventure activities from shooting and tunnelling to zip wire and archery. Their educators are friendly, kind and qualified.
We have trialled a number of art workshops locally.
I can recommend joining the mailing lists for Novium Museum, Worthing Museum and Art Gallery and Pallant House Gallery. Each holiday they offer day sessions which are funded and bring together local artists and educators to deliver workshops using real materials and inspired by the works in the galleries.
I have found them inspiring and high quality. The last workshop my son went to was a ceramics workshop at Pallant learning to create a clay portrait in releif.
There is also Art-K in both Worthing and Brighton who run weekend and holiday sessions.
